Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Readmira, including its reading, vocabulary, translation, audio, discovery, and AI-assisted features (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

Readmira may be hosted by different organizations or individuals. “Operator” means the person or organization that provides your particular Readmira instance. The Operator is responsible for identifying itself and providing any legally required contact information.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to enter into these terms. If you are under the age required to consent where you live, a parent or guardian must authorize your use.

• Provide accurate account information and keep it current.
• Protect your password and account access.
• Notify the Operator if you believe your account has been compromised.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

3. The Service

Readmira helps people learn languages by reading. Features may include importing text or files, analyzing reading difficulty, saving vocabulary, tracking progress, generating translations, producing audio, recommending content, and offering optional AI tools.

The Service may change over time. Features may be added, removed, limited, made paid, or discontinued. Beta and “coming soon” features may be incomplete or may never be released.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of content you upload or submit. You grant the Operator a limited license to store, process, reproduce, and transform that content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve the Service.

You must have the rights necessary to upload and use your content. Do not upload material that infringes copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights. Readmira does not grant permission to copy books, articles, or other works.

5. AI and automated features

AI-generated translations, definitions, synonyms, difficulty ratings, speech, and other outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Review important output before relying on it. AI tools are learning aids, not professional translation, academic, legal, medical, or safety advice.

When you activate an AI or voice feature, relevant text or audio may be sent to a configured third-party provider. The Privacy Policy explains this processing in more detail.

6. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Use the Service unlawfully or violate another person’s rights.
• Upload malware, abusive content, or material intended to disrupt the Service.
• Attempt to bypass security, access another account, or probe non-public systems.
• Scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or automate access in a way that harms the Service, except where applicable law permits it.
• Use AI features to generate or distribute unlawful, deceptive, or harmful material.

7. Third-party content and services

The Service may link to or retrieve content from sources such as public websites, RSS feeds, book catalogs, dictionaries, authentication providers, AI providers, and speech providers. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. Readmira does not control or endorse third-party content and is not responsible for its availability or accuracy.

8. Paid features

If the Operator offers a subscription, add-on, or usage-based purchase, the price, billing period, included features, renewal terms, and cancellation method will be shown before purchase. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law or stated at checkout. Taxes may apply.

Paid access may end when a subscription expires or is cancelled. Your core account data will be handled according to the Privacy Policy and any terms displayed at purchase.

9. Readmira materials

The Service’s software, interface, branding, and original materials are owned by the Operator or their licensors. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer ownership.

10. Suspension and termination

The Operator may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, address non-payment, or respond to a material violation of these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Contact your Operator to request account deletion.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” The Operator disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Readmira does not guarantee language-learning outcomes or the continued availability of imported or third-party content.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, opportunities, or goodwill arising from the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service during the previous twelve months or the minimum amount required by law.

13. Changes and governing terms

The Operator may update these terms. Material changes should be communicated through the Service or another reasonable method. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

Applicable law and dispute procedures depend on the Operator and your location. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
